About Me

Hi, Nice to meet you!

I’m a 41 year old British transwoman living my best life in Maine, USA with my wife and three cats. I identify as female and use she/her pronouns.

The best advice I ever heard: “Be who you are and say what you feel because people who mind don’t matter and people who matter don’t mind.”

Dr Seuss

My story in brief

I came out in January when my wife and I had a deep discussion over New Years Eve of 2020 and she outed me before I was out to myself. We are now closer and happier together and I love her support so so much.

It feels like a 20 year weight of depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts all disappeared over night. After 38 years, IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW. Each day afterwards has got better and better. As a few of my close friends have said, I’m “glowing” now.

The last months have still been challenging with adjusting to the real me. It was hard around May 2021 when only a handful of people knew about the real me and I had to still present as male at work, with friends and even just going to the store.

I’m now fully out and I am fully accepted and supported by my friends, family and colleagues.

I’m out to my parents who are fully supportive and I love them so much more for their acceptance and understanding.

I’m looking forward to starting this new chapter in my life and I hope you can follow me on my journey to a happier me!

Love ya,

Mel x
